    Picking the K1 up today.

I bought the K1 back in April but the travel restrictions imposed as a result of the f**king COVID virus meant I couldn't enter Germany until Monday. So I took the bus to Toulouse, a flight to Munich and two trains up to the small town of Burgkunstadt where the vendor, the very helpful Herr Harald Klein, lives. So I saw the bike when he picked me up from the station and it is absolutely as described. Not a minter but a well looked after example.

Today we head for the local registration office to get me registered as the owner at my address in Andorra, then a trip to get the new plate and 10 days insurance, then I ride the bike for the first time to a transport company to get some form of export licence and then finally a trip to the German Customs to get the documentation for export. I need all this to make the registration in Andorra as straightforward as possible.

Tomorrow I head for Andorra hopefully getting back on Friday evening.

    Many pics to follow!

Anything under about 50mph and it will run hot. It should never get into the red. Both fans must work or it will overheat. Congrats!

Left Burgkunstadt on Thursday morning at 6.00am and by 6.00pm had covered about 700 miles or 1,100Km and got to Orange in Southern France. Yesterday I just had to knock off 430Km or 265 miles to get back to Andorra which it did without any difficulty, although it was noticing the altitude.

Anyway today I washed both it and the K1300S so here they are

          Beautiful bikes, congratulations.
I'd have a hard time choosing if I could only keep one.

Nice! It can be good to step back in time.
