A big THANKS to EuroSport BMW of Asheville NC for letting us demo their brand new R1300GSA. The engine is smooth and the large tank provides a lot of wind protection, but this just isn't the bike for us. Those looking for a new GSA should love it. It feels light and planted, and is easy to move around in the parking lot (ex: engine off, parking).

So what is the right bike for us? Heck, we don't even know that (other than th eone we already have). But if one of these fit ..........

M1000XR ? It's a bit tall for some of us, but i believe that won't be an issue in your case.

The M1000XR was going to be a contender until BMW decided it would not have saddlebags.

Pretty sure the S1000XR is my next bike . It's got bags, $1700 worth.

Didn't realise the M doesn't do luggage. So the other option would be the S1000XR in the M Sport version. Engine has a bit less power but probably enough. But the colour of the M1000XR Competition as seen in your photos above is quite the sexy.

So far, there is no replacement for my K1300R.

Tim, the old "toaster tank" R/5's are popular now. I wonder if it's going to be the same 20 years from now for these new "microwave tank" 1300GS's?

I have a mild interest in the Moto Guzzi V100 Mandello. Dealer in Charlotte. But they haven't caught on. They only have 2023 models anywhere you look. But the reviews are terrific. I'm still interested. Plus I just paid $2100 for a 36K service on my S1000XR. I could be induced to change.
I’d rather think someone’s a son of a bitch than to have him think I’m a son of a bitch.

I'd have a Guzzi if there was a dealer within an hour of me.
