There was a boxing ring on the first floor of the Knuckle Saloon. We watched several matches include one between two women.

Bottom right is the same tunnel Lee posted below with the Tight-Squeeze RV. It currently has a sign designating it "Needles Eye Tunnel".

Mt. Rushmore in the distance in bottom right pic....The monument in the bottom left pic is for Peter Norbeck who laid out the road.
The "pigtail monument" on Iron Mountain Road refers to the three wooden spiral-shaped bridges on the 17-mile scenic drive in the Black Hills of South Dakota. These unique bridges, officially called spiral bridges, were designed to loop over the road to ascend the steep terrain, and they also serve to frame views of Mount Rushmore. Built in the 1930s with labor from the Civilian Conservation Corps, the bridges are now part of the National Register of Historic Places.
Location: The bridges are on Iron Mountain Road (US 16A) in the Black Hills of South Dakota, which runs between Custer State Park and Mount Rushmore.
Design: The spiral design was created to allow the road to climb the mountain without steep switchbacks, making the drive slower and more scenic.
Significance: The bridges and the road's tunnels and curves were designed to encourage drivers to slow down and enjoy the scenery.
Historical Context: The road was laid out by Peter Norbeck and the pigtail bridges were designed by Cecil Clyde Gideon, with construction largely completed by the Civilian Conservation Corps.

I tried to take a picture of Mt Rushmore through one of the tunnels but it didn't take. Film camera so we had to wait until returned home to see if the picture was any good. Nope

My picture but not one of us on the bike. The camper driver sure was brave or stupid.
