So there is a new kid in town, the Tread 5.5" just like the ZumoXT.
Only, this one has all the off road, contour, BLM, campsites, US national parks and other map data which will not be available on any other Garmin GPS.
I ordered the 3DAM adapter for the ZumoXT from Italy and with it the Tread goes into the BMW OEM nav cradle (GSA and XR), switches on and off with the ignition, no additional wires. Locks in the cradle as well.
No more BMW navs or Montana needed.
The magic wheel functions will be lost, of course, but it did not do much anyway.
