You can see in the second picture there are two types of earplug, foam and a silicone latex. I rode with one of each to see the difference. With the little speaker in the foam one I couldn't scrunch it up enough to block as much wind noise as I wanted. The silicone one worked great. In the online reviews it seemed that one worked better for some people and the other one for others. I only rode for a couple of hours but the silicone ones were comfortable and blocked about the same amount of noise as my regular plugs. The cord was fairly heavy and I was able to position it so it didn't pull on the plugs. They stayed in great, no problems when putting my helmet on. I don't normally listen to music when riding, it competes with all the voices in my head and they don't like it. All I need to hear is "Ka Band". Being stereo earplugs from the RADAR detector you only get it in one ear, but a stereo to mono adapter for $5 would probably fix that. I tried them with my MP3 player today and the sound was OK, about like the Sonys that I use to run with. If you're a serious audiophile you may be disappointed but for $25 you should adjust your expectations accordingly. So bottom line they did the job nicely, I was very pleased.
