    Riding Shoes

Anybody use riding shoes like these?

More than once I've heard that they come off easy. That would defeat the whole purpose. I'm looking to slim down my riding apparel for short hot weather rides.

Yep, I've got real boots. Those are nice but I'm looking for someone with real time experience with the little shorty booties. I'm also looking for some slightly slimmer pants (vented) with knee and hip pads. I'm trying to be able to ride a motorcycle somewhere and not look like the Michelin tire man when I get there. I'll keep my current leather jacket.

I think Gary's got some that are styled like that Pete. You might PM him or talk with him about them at the Hillbilly. See you soon!

I used to ride with leather converse high tops in summer. The thing about ATGATT is that taken to the extreme we'd all be in full race leathers every ride. Quite frankly that would suck. Moto magazine reviews say pretty much the same thing, boots are best but shoes with some ankle coverage are not a bad second choice.

These days I'm wearing a pair of Sidi riding shoes as my regular footwear - first tried them when I started riding to my part-time job. I've continued because the Harley people I encounter daily are all over the shop with regards to ATTGATT, and the younger ones are starting to get it. Riding shoes can't match boots, but if they're at least over the ankle, they're a good compromise.

Nothing but high boots for me. This from a few weeks ago. The guy slid out on a tight turn.

What am I looking at Mike? I can't tell if it's the front or the back of a knee? Who made those pants? I don't believe my kevlar pants will do that. They've been goat tested.
                  I've decided against riding shoes.

To me they are a good compromise for wearing to work as they are very comfortable for walking around in all day or maybe a quick trip to the store. But for the rest of my riding I would def go with boots

                          Jargon,
I was looking at those same boots, how is the protection over the toes??? The reviews say not very good. I really would like to purchase those, love the fact there W.P. And the the ankle and shine protection look spot on.
