Basecamp woes

I'm having trouble with the latest version of Basecamp. When I try to export a list that has a lot of track points in it, it just locks up for a while and when it finally wakes up, it hasn't exported my GPX list file.

What's up with dat?

Google maps is chimp simple. I-phone is simple. So why is a DEDICATED MAPPING COMPANY so bad at this? That's a rhetorical question.

I spent a lot of my career in software product R&D, particularly user interfaces so a quirky poorly designed UI is like nails on a chalk board to me. That was hard for me to look past that with Basecamp but its integration with my BMW Nav along with the ability to edit and manage track data keeps me coming back for more torture. Clearly, the Garmin software guys and gals never caught the Object Oriented programming trend back 3 decades ago and still think a mode oriented UI is just fine. Totally baffling.

I agree with all of the above but having surrendered to it many moons ago I have developed some level of basecamp-fu that works for me - until the ratzen frozen software is broken. I have one rev back on my MacBook and it works fine but I updated my desktop and now exporting large GPX files is not working.

Good that you did Windows Update. May I suggest doing a Disk Cleanup (check mark everything) then reboot.
