K1200RS Headlight Operation Questions

Hi guys.. Long time since I owned a K1200RS and I have a technical question about the headlight...

On the low beam setting.. obviously the H7 bulb is fired up.. My question is.. when you switch to high beam.. does the H7 stay on in addition to the H3 high beam bulb? Or does the H3 ONLY light up ?

Both, I know this because it's a common ground wire. I replaced the bulbs with higher
wattage ones and smoked the headlight lens when it burnt out.
But it's been a long time, I could be wrong.

No, you are correct. I had the same problem. I now have a HID bulb at 35 watts on low beam. 20 watts less than stock.

^^^ those other two very might well be old and senile, but they are also correct in this instance.
