Thanks for posting a detailed account of the outboard Differential Seal change. Appreciate all the maintenance info you have shared in the past!

Mine began to weep @15k miles. I removed the old one with two screws as you say. I installed the new one carefully.

I slathered Dielectric Grease on the inside of the Dust Cover and on the outside of the Seal so as to keep dirt off the Seal as well as keeping it from drying out. I then filled with 180 ml of Castrol Syntrax 80W-90. After a ~20 mile test ride I carefully opened the Fill Hole (without removing the rear wheel) for just an instant to let out the built up air pressure then immediately tighten'd it back up. I now have 25K Miles and it does not mist nor weep.

I plan to change the Gear Oil in August before a trip to the Smokies. I'll let the air pressure out again too.

      Hey Dan,
when you headed to the smokies??? My buddy and I plan on heading to myrtle Beach in august, stopping in Asheville NC for a couple nights, on the way back stopping at the Little Switzerland Inn resort, its literally right on the Blue Ridge Parkway, going to ride that towards cherokee, spend the night at the iron horse motorcycle resort, and then on to Nashville for a couple days before home.

Hi Dan. We're looking at mid to late September but the specifics aren't nailed down yet. Gonna meet up with an old Riding Buddy that has a Guzzi Stone.
