Cleaning oil out of your microfiber shop rags...

See UP-DATE in the subsequent post below.

I've been soaking them for a few days with a lot of Dawn blue dish washing soap and then hand washing and drip drying. Does the trick

The microfibers are sensitive to various laundry detergents and dryer heat.

I don't use them as oil rags....
Try not to dry in the cloths dryer, but every once in awhile
one slips through. Talk about "static cling" !
I was told not to use dryer sheets if you do dry them or it
will take the static out of them.

The white ones are your Depends, just flush them down the toilet.

      UP-DATE.

Apparently Dawn alone will not get everything out.

Added some OxiClean yesterday and will let that work for a few days.

      2ND UP=DATE:

The combination of Dawn and OxiClean did the trick.

There was a small tanker years back that the oiler pulled some gasoline from a bottom tap and added it to the wash machine to clean the rags. Didn't work out well.

The OxiClean took out all of the oil stains. Don't know if it was the combo with Dawn or the Oxi alone.
    Working...
