AND ... I've been doing some SERIOUS DRIBBLING over the all new Honda Africa Twin 1100 Adventure Sports DCT ES. Its due to land in Oz end of March:
Can I wait that long?????

justjoe - Yep, know what you mean. Its not so much the older I get the lazier I am, just I think it would be a real asset on a bike like this. I will always have the FireBlade to keep up my gear-changing skills
wildbears - I've been utubing a lot of 2020 reviews and they all say the wind noise is pretty horrid at 100mph. Pre that, and after that, it isn't too bad. Honda have wind deflectors to assist. Then there is always the option to buy a second screen and cut it down. We've done that to a couple of bikes (the FireBlade, a TL1000S) and it works well.
cabnfvr - I'm a girl. I've got patience. Plus other bikes in the stable, so that sure helps with the waiting
Not really, Mike. I learnt to ride in the dirt and have had several Hondas and Suzukis. Have done trail bike safaris and long distance dirt bike rides. My roots are in the dirt.
The Honda is so different to your k13 Fran that you will not try to make comparisons. This will make the decision so much more satisfying and you certainly have the landscape for it in WA
Arr, yes, well, good question Eric. My girlfriend rides a 1290 Super Duke R, and her partner a 1290 Super Adventure R. And I know Toby Price is rides the hell out of KTMs but I'm a bit sceptical about standard issue bikes longevity and reliability over time.
Was chatting to a Honda Dealer late last week regarding the ETA on the A2. Its due on showroom floors end of March/early April. However, he did say that they will have the range on display at the Big Boys Toys expo 15/16 Feb so will go and check it out for sizing.
Anyway, I have the FireBlade and that'll do me for the moment.

Well, I decided I simply CANNOT wait until April, so put a deposit down on a used bike yesterday. If it all checks out tomorrow, I'll be picking it up next Saturday. Its gunna be a lonnnnng week

Don't need tyres as the guy put on new set of Pirelli Corsas. They come with 6" chicken strips. Both sides. Front and rear. That'll be one of the first things I'll get rid of.
