    Indian FTR1200S - interesting

While I am not in the market for a new motorcycle, the simple fact that Indian has come out with a "sport" oriented naked bike is pretty interesting. I'm not fired up about the specs as compared to it's competitors, but at least it is a step in the right directions.

I'm not in the market, either, but I WILL go have a look. This is closer to what H-D should have done with their new FXDR, which, FWIW, has a whopping 66" wheelbase and that ghastly 240 rear tire

It sort of reminds me of the early production Buells with the trellis frames of some 20 years ago.
        Would I ride it? Yes
        Would I own it? No
        2015 Black BMW K1300R @ 49,200 km / 30,500 mi
        2006 Honda FireBlade @ 83,200 km / 51,800 mi - 3 x transcontinentals & a whole lotta hooning

        DEAD: 2012 Acid Green BMW K1300R @ 172,600 km / 107,200 mi - Hit a kangaroo - RIP dear friend

I was having a beer with KentheMF'ingGrass and that was his exact comment. Buell was recently separated from contract with HD as well?? Question, not a statement. I would most definitely ride it, and if it was something special I like the looks enough to add it to the current stable.

Pretty cool - a large scrambler - but without the big boxes and shit... the Triumph Bonneville has a package like this. I just need a (much) bigger garage and (much) bigger budget...

It was dubbed the FTR1200. It looks like it was the inspiration for the FTR1200S. Same engine, but different pipes. (In the article, it said that everyone who rode the custom burned their leg on those pipes, so a change was called for.)

It also looks to me like the frame on the production bike, the S, is longer and stronger than the custom bike's. The custom was styled after Indian's dirt-tracker with a bigger engine (1200 vs 750), but this production bike loses some of that look.

                ???????

Looks like a poor attempt to copy a lot of stuff...namely the Ducati Diavel
