Imagine you were born in 1900.

When you're 14, World War I begins, and ends when you're 18 with 40 million dead. [22M is just military deaths]
Before this War to End All Wars is over, the Spanish Flu appears in 1918, killing 50 million people. After it's over you've survived, 20 years old.
When you're 29 you encounter the global economic crisis with the collapse of the New York Stock Exchange, causing inflation, unemployment, and famine.
When you're 33 years old the Nazis come to power.
When you're 39, World War II begins, and ends when you're 45 years old with 85 million dead. In the Holocaust alone, 6 million Jews die.
When you're 50, the Korean War begins. At 55, the Vietnam War begins and ends when you're 75.
A child born in 1985 thinks his grandparents have no idea how difficult life is.
Today we have all the comforts in a new world, amid a new pandemic. But we complain because we need to wear masks. We complain because we must stay confined to our homes where we have food, electricity, water, wifi, Netflix! But humanity survived those circumstances and never lost their joy of living.

People lived thru all that & businesses stayed open people went to work & didn't cower in their basement with a mask on their face.
& kiddies went to school...walking 5 miles uphill both ways in the snow & they didn't even have Gor-Tex

Both of my mother's parents and my dad's sister died of TB before they knew much about it.
You may be surprised to know it's still kills 1.5 million people a year:

Recently I started traveling to Saranac Lake, NY and staying at a cottage there. I picked up a book off of the end table and started reading about the history of the town. People went there to "cure", not to "be cured". With fresh air, good diet and rest their bodies cured themselves.
Pretty interesting, Google Saranac Lake TB Cure.

Zinc and vitamin D at appropriate levels, still without hard evidence, are over-the-counter, cheap/free, and harmless. These may be prophylactic and can be easily enlisted by those who feel they need to do something.

First, I'll say what follows is by no means suggesting the Wuhan Virus is not a serious health issue, far from it. However, as far as I'm concerned, if someone wants to take a hydroxychloroquine based cocktail, it should be their prerogative. I think one of the main reasons so called 'experts' poo poo it as a prophylactic, is because it's dirt cheap & there's no big $'s to be made. It's been used around the world for 65 years and prescribed in millions of doses, with few side effects or downside. It certainly doesn't kill people who take it. If it were available over the counter, I guarantee that shit would be flying off the shelves.

And who says the so called 'experts' at the WHO & CDC know anymore than the doctors who conducted the White Coat Summit in DC the other day? Those two organizations have been wrong on many aspects of the Chinese Flu from the beginning, not to mention the WHO covered up for those lyin' bastard Chicoms to boot! I don't trust anything that comes out of the WHO, the CDC, China or that little hack Fauci. In fact, it's the CDC whose responsibility it is to be ahead of these kinds of illnesses, but as is usually the case with most Gov't agencies, they were/are asleep at the wheel.

Another thing I think is very telling is how quickly the Masters of the Universe at Google, FB, Twitter, et al, took down the videos of the WCS & suspended the accounts of people who retweeted the video & expressed their opinions, including Madonna, oddly enough. On FB alone the video was viewed over 17 million times during the 8 hours it was hosted, with 185K concurrent users watching the summit live on the internet. So suddenly, somebody at these companies are medical experts and can somehow determine the video was spreading misleading and potentially harmful information related to COVID-19?

              No free speech for you!

Let's definitely do our best to wreck the economy, destroy people's livelihoods & dreams, and keep everyone cowering in fear, hiding in their basements waiting for a vaccine that may never come. Still don't have a vaccine for AIDS & they've been working on that since the 80's. After Nov. 3, Covid-19 will most likely become a distant memory & it will be on to something new to keep us off balance & from focusing on getting things back on track.

Just my .02. Opinions are like assholes... everybody's got one.

As long as we understand a few things, I think it's all good. There is no cure, no vaccine, and no preventative measures that will "stop" COVID19. The use of facemasks is not for the person wearing it, but to help slow the rapid spread of the infection. Not prevent the spread, not stop it, slow it.

We must recognize that ALL of the data that we are looking at is not peer-reviewed to the level of scientific acceptance. This is why the advisories have changed because when data is available the scientists will change their guidance. This is why the WHO and CDC look like a bunch of dumbasses because they try to guide folks with "proof" and then attempt to debunk other guidance. There is NO scientific proof of anything at this point!

Social isolation is great for the prevention of the spread of COVID. Now if we could all just isolate to the point of no contact at all, then nobody else will be infected. But where can this happen? Not in my world. I have to go to work, go to the grocery store, go out in public every damn day. My kids have to go to school, continue their education, continue living their lives. And then we come back home. Nice.

We will not be able to hide from this. We cannot stop it. We cannot stop living. If you go out in public, wearing a mask or not, you are eventually going to get it. Chances are extremely high that at least 50% of us have already had it! Odds are good that at least 70% of us have had it already. But don't believe my numbers because those are the same numbers that some studies have already presented and are NOT peer-reviewed,

                See you, kids, at DGR.

Guys, the ATS (American Thoracic Society) and other peer reviewed data points to hydroxychloroquine and other mumbo jumbo combinations do squat. This from a Pulmonologist in this group.
Wear a mask for your fellow bros, and social distancing. Its the best we can do at this point.

                  Just wondering...

Does wearing a face mask during exercise increase training benefits by simulating training at high altitude?

I wear a N95 mask if I go shopping to protect me from those that have freedom rights.

Bill, if you don't want to wear a mask when in public and can't social distance, then don't
go out in public. You really don't breath that much of your own air back in.
The employees have many masks and change them frequently.
I find that we just don't get too close.
I go to many homes a day. I wear mask, gloves and booties if in the living space.

What Bill is saying is true. When you encounter people who wear masks all day outside of a "trained" facility, they rarely use them correctly. I like the ones who wear them on their chin the most!

Local dinner for breakfast yesterday, the waitresses have their masks on their chins if someone comes in they don't know they pull them up.
Getting cold cuts the other day 3 women working (same 3 since before the virus) I was the only customer one woman helping me the other 2 talking with their masks pulled down. They pull the same mask up when they get a customer.
Cashier pulling her mask up & down complaining she can't breathe, she's been working there for years.
Guy pushing a cart mask down.
Manager on his cell mask down...I could list more & this is just the last 2 days.

Colorado started mandatory masks the last couple days we were there.
Before the order most people in Colorado wore masks. In my town most people do not wear them but Debbie and I do.
Debbie is required to wear a mask at work.
A mask is not a perfect solution but it helps.
