        Vistaril to the Rescue!

In men, chronic perineal compression can lead to impotence, PGAD, hemorrhoids, prostatitis, dysuria, difficult urination, urinary incontinence, interstitial cystitis, etc.
Many of these symptoms can be relieved with the medication, Vistaril. It's an antihistamine used to treat anxiety and also overactive bladder symptoms.

Of course, correct saddle positioning to remove the cause is most important. The medication may be effective for most if not all of the above symptoms assuming there is not permanent nerve damage. This is based on limited anecdotal evidence.

Magnesium supplements may also help these symptoms maybe by reducing muscle cramping with associated decreased local blood flow.

          The Edgewater Training Method

          1. Ride in the highest gear you can on level pavement.

          2. As you begin to slow/tire, stand on the pedals and do a couple of revolutions to bring your speed back up.

          3. Repeat.

Note: You may have to get out of the saddle on uphill grades. Coast or spin on downhills.

WARNING: You should be on the bike a month or so before starting this. Otherwise, you can damage your knee cartilage.

AhHa! Wildbears, you've got a "man-van" too. The so-called "soccer moms" may have moved on, but lots of guys I know (and yours truly) have picked up the torch because they are so damned useful, especially for cyclists. My friends call mine "the Pow-Wow Wagon."

We have a 4 x 6 bed platform in the back with plenty of room for storage. Makes for a great Mini RV. Plus it can tow 3,000 lbs.

Correction: Our 2012 Ody can tow 3,500 lbs.

Saddle Position, Bottom Line (Pun Intended)

There are multiple posts about the saddle position in this thread.

However, a cardinal rule is there should never be pressure on the perineum, especially when on the drops.

Had to use my water bottle to squirt a neighborhood dog a few days ago.

Just finished the highlights from the UAE Tour. Short but still some excitement and disappointments. Too bad about Cavendsih and Yates.

                  Bonking And Weight Loss

Bonking occurs on a ride when your body runs out of glucose, which is needed to power your muscles.

When the sugar is gone, your body starts burning fat to produce ketones. The ketones are then used to power your muscles and brain cells.

On a vigorous ride, the ketone production can't keep up with the energy demand and you bonk.

But you can keep riding at a slower speed and keep on burning internal fat.

This is similar to how intermittent fasting burns internal fat.

Omloop Het Nieuwsblad: Jan Tratnik makes it three wins in a row for Visma-Lease A Bike. The Slovenian out sprinted his late breakaway companion Nils Politt and Wout Van Aert sprinted for third.

This was a great race. Omloop het Nieuwsblad is always a good race. It's certainly one of the true Spring Classics.
