You can't make this shit up

Beth and I have COVID. For about a week now. It's not the sickest I've ever been, but it's not to laugh at either. We both have all the symptoms: no smell, sore throats, coughs, fevers. Valentine's Day should be fun.

We also have 4 dogs who sleep in our bedroom. Abel, the Great Dane, sleeps on the bed, down by our feet. One or more of the dogs will usually need to go out in the night; sometimes I let them out , sometimes Beth does.

I woke up this morning, and something was different in the bedroom. A presence was there. Not an aroma, so much as a heaviness on the nose. I got up and figured it out. When Abel had gone out in the night, he had gotten sprayed by a skunk, and when we let him back in, whoever let him in didn't smell it. Everyone went back to sleep. Abel got back on the bed, and smeared the stink onto the covers.

So now we have a day of washing sheets and the dog, airing out the house, and at the end we probably won't be able to tell if we've done any good or not. Wish us luck!

I’d rather think someone’s a son of a bitch than to have him think I’m a son of a bitch.

Feel better soon, Rob and Beth! And as for Valentine's Day, you know diamonds make everything alright! Tim is aware of this, too.

Well then don't let in any skunks, or skunky dogs.

Well , first I hope you and Beth get out of that Covid quickly . I got it before Christmas but it was more like a small cold , if I didn't have a home testing kit I probably never would have known I had it .
Secondly , that's seriously funny shit what happened to you cousin Robert ...

            Here's to a quick recovery

I had a light case of it. Was on the couch for a week. And that was after the shot. A worse problem for me was Lymes..... got it a year N half ago. Was about the same as the Vid but much longer, drawn out issues. Only been the last cpl months that I feel anywhere near pre heart attack.

Yes, thanks. I'm pretty much cured. Planning to take a motorcycle ride this afternoon. Beth still has a cough, but no fever or other stuff.
I'm pleased to report that I got almost all of the skunk smell gone. Still a little whiff entering the bedroom, but one more wash should knock that out.

Bummer, just thought of this: The perfect "fixer upper" for you guys would be a jar or two of the KY shine we all know and love.

That would be one sip for Beth and the rest for me, which would certainly throw me into relapse.

Okay, I'm declaring myself cured. I did 130 miles on the XR this afternoon, and if the weather holds, I'll do it again tomorrow. I'm trying to put miles on it so I can get the big 18K service done before I leave for North Dakota in July. Currently at 15160.

Doug, it's the only one of the Lower Forty-eight that I haven't ridden in. Gotta get there.
