Glad you're enjoying your new toy. We have no desire to ride the Cherohala in 45 minutes but regarding Deal's Gap in the rain ...... you should try it at night. In the snow.Originally posted by justjoe View Post..... I decided to ride home in the rain. It is the only time that I have ridden the entire length of the Dragon at the speed limit. It really does have some beautiful scenery.....

Yeah, no thanks. I got my fill in the pouring down rain. But I did get to actually see the Dragon, at least once.Originally posted by cabnfvr View PostGlad you're enjoying your new toy. Hey Bob, I am going to change a few little things at first, mostly due to requirements. I have on order and will install some pieces that make wire tying the oil filter, oil filler cap, and oil drain plug easy. I have also ordered a windscreen that is a must when you run it over 130 mph, not that I would do such a thing on the street but on the track it'll definitely help. I have also ordered and will install block off plates for the passenger pegs and the fender (which removes the rear blinkers and license plate). All of this is simple to do and easily reversible to put the bike back on the street.Originally posted by Bobby View PostJoe. Are you going to do any modifications for using it on the track? I've ridden on a track only once so don't know the culture, but it seems like the new Tuono can do what you need as is. Why mess with it? Maybe e stickier tires, but otherwise what would you do to it?
As far as other upgrades, non-track related, I am going to replace the rear fender completely with a tail tidy and integrate the turn signals in the brake light, replace the front turn signals with tiny little LED's and put bar end mirrors on it. Other than that...

Aprilia's are things of beauty! I owned 3 of them simultaneously at one point (2000 Mille, 2001 Futura, 2004 RSV Factory) and still own my first (see pic). The build quality is superb, not to mention the joy of riding them. I drool over the Tuonos every time I go to my BMW/Aprilia dealer, however, the seat to peg relationship on my S1000XR is more forgiving than the Tuono's. So far I have resisted. Besides, the XR goes like a bat out of Hell and has luggage for touring!

Nice ass. Or is that nice, ass! So here is what I am planning on doing.Originally posted by Flyboy View Post

Motodynamics Tail Tidy
Notice how it comes in separate pieces. You can set it up with the blank for track days and then add/remove the license plate.
I'm not sure if I will go the route of integrated tail light/blinkers. If I don't I will use the Morimoto Pindicators.
Check out this dude's video. The end shows the installed product. Easy install and easy to prep for the track.
