    Ahr 2021

I talked with Mrs. Gordon this afternoon and she has sold the motel. She will be meeting with the new owner on September 10th & is not sure whether he will be ready/willing to host us for this year's AHR. Even so, that leaves very little time for a Plan B and to make other arrangements. Alas, the end of an era fo sho.

There is that little motel at the intersection getting out of town we can check out or we can make a wholesale change to Harrison or perhaps even Yellville, which looks interesting. It appears to be a nice place, pricing seem reasonable & there looks to be a couple of places close by to eat & not too far of a walk away. There's a liquor store too but at the other end of town.

The dates I've been targeting is, arriving October 13th, departing the 17th. If any of you who have been planning to make it this year or those who might be thinking about it want to chime in with any input, thoughts, comments, etc., it's appreciated.

The other place in Jasper and the Carlton look like doable options. I did not look at food at Yellville.
Another option is the Quality Inn in Harrison. North side of town. When we go by it looks like a decent place and has food close by.
If Jasper does not work, I need to cancel our reservation at the Jasper Getaway across the street a month ahead.
October is a busy month for that place and I hate to cancel any latter than that.

If it's held at the Riverview Motel at the intersection some people might share a room at the Little Buffalo Terrace next door.
      https://little-buffalo-terrace-indoo...business.site/
They have five rooms. $80 to $109

I like the looks of the Carlton in Yellville and will call them today & a place in Harrison called the Family Budget Inn that seem more in the price range we're used to seeing at the Gordon & see what they say. It'd be nice to see a show of hands of who is gonna attend or thinking about attending so I can give them an idea of how many rooms we might need. I'm guessing 10-12?

In the past I thought about the Family Budget Inn because it's motorcycle friendly, but I don't see much for food within walking distance.
I looked at Yellville again and it looks good. Good rates and the pictures of the rooms look good. Small town is a plus.
Within walking distance is a BBQ place, Mexican Restaurant, Subway and a grocery store.

When Tyson and Cathy were here a couple weeks ago they said they would attend.

The big question is, will they let us do a bonfire in the parking lot?

We plan on being there. The Carleton in Yellville looked decent but we're good wherever it winds up.

Looking at the Sat view I think I see a fire ring near the center of the grass area.
The grass area surrounded by trees and the creek look perfect for our crew.

Hey Lee, I notice from your picture the circuit court judge is just a couple of houses down. Not too far to go to make bail for someone.

We could invite him to the fire each night, give him a few beers and skip the bail part

                      I texted Tyson.
They can attend no matter the location.
He did mention they can't come before the 10th.

I also sent a text to Mike Knox.

It kind of threw a wrench in our normal plans but good for Ms. Gordon selling the hotel. Hope she enjoys the rest of her life and it will be interesting to see what becomes of the place.

I'm also interested in what happens to the old motel.
I wonder if the guy who bought the old gas station across the street bought it?

I heard about this thread, but have just now had a chance to peruse it. Good for Mrs. Gordon. She's been good to us.

I think the place in Yellville should be fine for all the reasons others have said. It makes Push Mountain close and Oark a full day's ride in exchange. Fair enough. Plus we can explore around Yellville for new roads and go up into Missouri if need be. The fact is, that with this group we will have a great time no matter where we end up staying. After all, our peeps are more interesting than the pavement (not that there is anything wrong with a nice smooth twisty bit of pavement).

Thanks, Curt, for being our tireless leader these past few years.

Gaston's is 20 miles from Yellville.
Yellville, Push Mt, Gaston's and back to Yellville is a 110 mile loop.
