I agree Tim, Oct is a busy time for NW Arkansas.
We should cancel our reservation in the next week so the owner of the Jasper Getaway does not lose out on a rental during a prime time.

I'm ready to pull the trigger on reservations at the Yellville place as soon as our leader says "Go!"

After repeated calls to the Carlton, someone named Ken finally answered & asked that I call him back next week. I was told he has mild symptoms of Covid & his partner/wife/girlfriend also has Covid, but much more serious. I did ask if he thought they'd be open for business in October, to which he replied, 'yes'.

I'm halfway thinking about a weekend recon mission to scope out the following places:

• Carlton Marion Inn - Yellville
• Family Budget Inn - Harrison
• The Madison Motel - Huntsville
• The Fairway Inn - Berryville

Each motel has something to consider based on location & reviews left by guests. Not all are good but IMO, they can't be much worse than the Gordon!

I gave a call to our buddy Boyd too to see what he might recommend. As we were getting caught up, he told me that his shed burned down that held all 3 of his motorcycles & other toys, including his '60 something BSA Lightning, his lifetime tool collection and other valuables & keepsakes. He & Fey are updating their house & plan to move to their lake house full time at some point down the road. At any rate, he said he would put some thought into it too & let me know.

I hope to have all this sorted out next week & will keep everyone posted.

Boyd! Damn! The Suzuki was well used, but losing the BSA totally sucks. I have a friend who this winter burned up a "shed" that housed three motorcycles, a couple of ATV's, two newish cars, a small tractor and two gun safes full of high quality guns. All was a total loss, but for the guns.

(Unexpectedly, the doors to the gun safes were ruined and had to be sawed off to open. The firemen said to expect only burnt metal and ashes from their previous experiences. But, the guns turned out to be fine, although a couple were scorched a bit.)
