Karl, I'm not really sure. It may have had to do with people getting home in time to work on Monday, or it might have been because of room reservations sorta at the 11th hour. In any event, it worked out well for everybody. I kind of liked it. Or who knows, some whiners might have done it LOL!

It worked out nice last year when some of us stayed a extra day.

I really wish them luck. We had some good times there.. Mrs. Gordon was a case, but good as gold.

Those pix you sent showing The Gordon renovation made me wonder what that's going to cost. I would have thought that they would have brought in a bulldozer.

We stopped at Jasper today for breakfast. Mrs Gordon's car was at the house when rode by but gone after we finished breakfast.
One of the guys working on the motel said she will move a double wide to her son's property.
They told us the units by the office would be gutted and the other units just refreshed for now. Only bathroom walls will be moved.
The investment group want some rooms open by October.
The waitress at Ozark Cafe said Walmart and the Bass Pro guy bought 1,600 acres for hiking and bicycle trails near Low Gap.

The Bass Pro guy bought the old Dog Patch north of Jasper several years ago.
The land for the bike and hiking trails is in the Low Gap and Shiloh area. I found out the next day it's more like 4,000 acres.
Sounds like it was not a Walmart corporate purchase but a private purchase by a Walton.
The last bit of info was from the pottery guy at Osage.

Okay, my buddy Gary bailed on the Hillbilly this October... apparently, he let his wife make some vacation 'decisions' that ended up overriding any authority he has as a man & his vacay time. ? Hopefully, this doesn't start some kind of crazy trend & notion about future rallies!

Anyway, ol' Curt Bob is looking for a roomie, preferably, with a smokin' hot babe. However, seeing as how that has a one-in-a-million chance of becoming reality, I'll settle for any other hooligan that would like to share a room. I'm a Taurus, enjoy motorcycles, disc golf, long walks in the woods and focus on irresponsible behavior & good natured jocularity.
