Great write-up with fun pictures. We enjoyed every minute of this year's AHR. We had the "A-Team" for sure. There were some good folks who we missed by their absence, But, we overcame our sorrows in just a few minutes by having a great time!

I forgot about the elk pictures I had on my camera.
We saw two at the Ponca Low Water Bridge on the Buffalo River Thursday afternoon.

If it's early morning or late afternoon you can see them in the open pastures at the two pull off viewing areas.
This is the 2nd time we've seen them in the trees at the short gravel road down to the river.

I saw one of these things by the side of the road, hooves up. Cannot imagine the damage on whatever hit it.

There are often elk herds at the Oconaluftee Visitor Center near the Cherokee entrance to the Smoky Mountains National Park. Also in Cataloochee Valley, also within the park.

I recall seeing a post referencing a spring Arkansas fling. Is that a thing or just a tease?

I saw on FB today that NASA has chosen Russellville, AR as their 2024 solar eclipse HQ. Just where in Russellville has yet to be announced.
And yes, the AHR spring fling is currently being worked on.

Susan, lots of people are planning on coming here next summer for it.
I've heard that ABnBs are booked already. I didn't realize it was as big
          of a thing.

For those that are curious, Rooster (AKA Pretty Boy, AKA Big Mike Knox) reported that the BMW shop in Denton has revived his old Blue K1200S. It was neither the fuel pump, the relay dealie sending unit, or his bad behavior that was the problem. The BMW shop's diagnostic showed that the so-called "adaptive values" of his computer were fouled up. They reprogrammed it back to the proper settings for $80.00. He's back on the road again and no longer looking at Honda/Yamaha?Suzuki/Kawasaki sport tourers.

Depending upon how you feel about large, old, uncouth, crude Viet Nam veterans, this is either good news or bad news. I suggest everyone cut him a break because Cathy actually likes him AND it's Veterans' Day all weekend. I think we will see him again soon at THCR or spring AHR. So . . . we've got THAT going for us!

Sounds like he may be able to do Texas and Arkansas in April. After Texas he can go home for a night or 2 then head to Arkansas.
