Kind of gave away the meat of the story in the title but this year we're trying a different weekend, May 28-31. Apologies to those who wanted the traditional, but this date was selected by climatological science, scouring local college graduation dates, avoiding Memorial Day, and getting it in before schools in Virginia get out. Tried to find a Chinese guy that could do those fortune telling sticks like Hop Sing on Bonanza but evidently that's a lost art. So here are the details:
It's at the Wattstull Inn in beautiful Buchanan, VA at the Arcadia exit off I-81. They treat us right at the Wattstull. Ann gave us a discounted room rate of $75 a night plus tax, which works out to $84.26. With a roommate that costs you a whopping $42.13 a night. If you don't have $42 worth of fun Joe will refund the registration fee for TRP. Normal rate would be $94.46. She's blocked off the whole place, 26 rooms and will hold until April 1. Number for the Wattstull is (540) 254-1551, tell them you're with the BMW group. I forgot to ask about the online thing, I can call her back this afternoon. She said that one night would be placed on your card as a hold. Informally she sounded pretty flexible on cancellations, but remember this is a family business that treats us well so do your best not to jerk them around. Not only do they put up with our shit, they welcome it. They've even gone so far as to shoot fireworks in our honor....at 1 AM. No one bothers you about having a beer and there's good riding close by in every direction. So in summation:
