Not to take anything away from Bill, but Matt's struggle may have had something to do with the previous evening's activities.

Sunday I suffered inability to focus after a long night chatting with Joe... BUT, please don't take that as any sort of excuse. I can't believe I'm gonna say this... really, I shouldn't say this... BUT, the shorter wheelbase GS has it all over my K-RS in the very tight stuff. While the GS is one of the ugliest bikes on the road, and the K-RS is the best looking bike that BMW has ever produced, I truly believe that the GS is a superior bike in the tight twisties. With the longer wheelbase and heavier weight of the K-RS, combined with having my daughter on board, I struggled to hang around Bill in the tightest stuff on Sunday. So there it is... GS over K bike... but I'm still too vain to be seen on one of those things.

And please, for the love of all things good in this world, don't let the believers turn this into a GS is faster than a sportbike conversation.

Funny you should say that. I was thinking the same thing on the switchbacks we were on at one point. I was thankful that I was on the GSA with it's shorter wheelbase. And yes, the GSA with the MotoGP adapter kit is the fastest sportbike EVAH!!!

Good, I see that you fell for that trap... bring that oversize dirtbike out to VIR in September and let's see how she does against the real sport bikes

Yupper, and I'll raise you one and bet you that it's NOT ME! If it is, I'll give you my track bike and go buy a GS.

More trickery... I was only on the bike as an unbiased third party to finally answer the ROX Risers question that you girls were quibbling over.

That said, I did ride Stevie's GS a couple of years back. The bolt upright seating position and the twin motor didn't work for me. While it would still be upright, if they dropped KTM's SuperDuke 1290 engine in the GS... OMG that would be fun. They would just have to add a "neuter" mode that produced half power for riding off-road.

I had a great time!!! Good to see old friends and make new ones. I missed Eddy's mason jar though. Thanks to Bill and Wes for their tour guide service. Made it home on that rear tire. Did 1400 miles.

Great story Joe. Riding in this area has been elevated to near top of my bucket list. Just an observation though, only one beer photo. What gives?

I don't drink anymore. One a day is enough...

BRP is a must. Several roads in the area are awesome. Although I think the southern end of the brp is better.

Isn't everyone a comedian... but yes, it WAS kinda different.
Reminds me, I want to get out my depth gauge and see how much life was removed from it as I'm trying to get better with tire life estimation. I have theories, my first law of tire wear states that attending Rallies causes a rapid loss of tire life.
                        Working...
