DGR - to be or not to be

I have been wrangling over DGR this year or not. There are several considerations that have been holding me up with reserving space and publishing the information. So, here is where we are at and if in the end there is still enough interest, I will book us a hotel.

    1. Pirate contacted me in regards to doing a little shindig and I thought it was a great idea. I also wanted to plan the DGR around his dates to make it easier for folks to attend both instead of having two separate events a little over a month apart. So, with his interest, I delayed scheduling DGR.
    2. When the dates for his BBQ were listed, I knew they may conflict with AHR. I will not schedule an event opposite an established event that could draw folks from either. For instance, I would not do KHCR or DGR in the same month, which holds true for AHR. SGR is across the country, so someone making that trek will more than likely not attend two events that close together.

So, with that said, if I hold DGR and without affirmative dates on AHR, if I was to schedule DGR this year it would be in September. Is anyone interested in a particular date? If I schedule it are folks interested at all. Once again, I do not want to take away from either Pirate's party or the AHR and if someone can only do one event, I don't want DGR to be the cause of diminishing numbers.

Let me know what you think and I will get something on the books. If I don't hear anything back, I will let it ride for a year and have DGR in 2022.

When I find myself in times of trouble Mother Joe comes to me. Let it be, let it be.

We plan to be at Jerry's in October as well as being in Arkansas the weekend before or after. If there is no AHR we'll be there anyway, just not sure where yet. For DGR, September works.

        if only I were...

        1) retired
        2) a government worker

as it is, I'd love to go, but can't. Have fun, or don't, I'm irrelevant'er on this one.

A couple weeks ago Curt told me he was thinking of Oct 14 to 17 for Jasper. This is the normal week.
At that time he had not called Mr Gordon.
Not knowing if there would be a Arkansas rally I still made a reservation the first of the year for the normal date.
There was a Google review late week and last month so it's still open.

Jerry set up his shindig on Jan 12th, 2021. If we make Arkansas it would be a couple of days mid-week, then off to Jerry's.

Yes, I agree. And I would like to accommodate Jerry's shindig which is why I have not scheduled against it (dates that do not coincide with his party). I guess I should allow each person to make a choice, but I didn't feel that was the right way to work it.

Can't do September, we have a local club gathering then.

I plan to attend Jerry's picnic, and I plan not to go to Jasper this year. Also I'm close enough that going to the NC mountains twice is no inconvenience. Schedule away!
I’d rather think someone’s a son of a bitch than to have him think I’m a son of a bitch.

Hope you are OK Zato. We cannot cross your border and visit you, while you can come in Canada. Take care of yourself.

It's not going to be this year for us Canadians. If you go ahead, enjoy !!! Great souvenirs for me. Cheers

Arkansas is only 1100 miles from my house. Gotta be at least 5 less for you.
