Well, Yes Matt. I had a double and I was the only occupant and I left on Saturday. I didn't see your post until I returned to Yorktown. I wish you would have posted this earlier than after the rally started. I don't read this forum when I'm at a rally..Originally posted by MattB View PostLong shot, but anyone book a double at the Meadowlark and open to a bunkmate?

Arrived home safe and sound around 9:15. What a great time!!! The best hooligans on the planet, the roads and location, great food and the weather was perfect with cool temps and bright blue skies!
BIGLEY shout out to Jerry for making a cameo appearance!! Thank you, Joe, for setting this up. Cannot wait for next year! Onward to AHR!ain't skeered

You're right, Susan... Best weather for a rally I've seen in years. Was good seeing you and Tim as well as the usual miscreants. Can't believe Joe didn't show up for the last night's festivities..
Had hoped to see a few others.. Loggie, Ken the Grass, Zato, etc.. WTF?!
and BTW.... I apologize again for my bad hearing in case I missed anyone or anything...

On the way up we stopped at a local burger joint at the intersection of NC 276 and NC 215. Both fine roads that form a loop around and over the Blue Ridge Parkway. Refined Hooligans were all over the place that day.
NC 215. We average 5000 miles to a set of tires. I wonder why.
We met Charlie, Bob and Mark on the Parkway.
Bob's Rev-it suit looked as fast as his bike!
These tires are doing well but I'll change them before AHR.
Refined Hooligans.
The Happy Couple.
However, they don't think Joe's the father.
Lunch Saturday at the Iron Horse Station in Hot Springs, NC. Excellent food and roads.
Guess where we are.
Rolling roadblock, at least for a little while.
Resting after a fun day.
J Arthur's across the street from the motel.
Two go fast bikes. There's another hiding coyly behind..
Pirate made a cameo appearance at the fire pit out back.
We had NC276 all to ourselves as we headed home. It looks amazingly like NC215.
20 minutes to home.
The temptation to pass was great, but we refrained. Barely.
Almost forgot, Matt B in his onesie.
And with this visual we leave you. Looking forward to AHR. Hope to see you there. You're all invited.Last edited by cabnfvr; 09-25-2022, 04:50 PM.

I don't know, but how much will it cost to have you tell me?Originally posted by cabnfvr View PostNC 215. We average 5000 miles to a set of tires. I wonder why.

I had a MattB moment. With cords almost showing, I asked Matt how much longer I could keep riding and with his years of experience riding shoddy tires, he said 100 miles. He was right. Then he said I had another 300 miles after the cords appeared before I needed to check them again to see how much further I could go.

Maybe I missed it since I left on Saturday, but was there the traditional ride to Helen, GA to the Troll Restaurant during this rally? I didn't even hear it mentioned. I think there was a trip to the Troll every other DGR that I've been to. It's been a few years since I've attended. There used to be a ride to Marlinton during the BRPR. I know people went there this year, but it always seemed like a big thing.

I don't think anyone went to Helen this year (or the last couple since being held in Maggie Valley). I was talking to the brain trust on Saturday evening and the thought of hosting the next DGR on the southwest side of the Dragon is going to be looked at this coming year. Think Murphy, Tellico Plains, Franklin, Blue Ridge, etc. That puts all of N GA into play.
