Holy shit!! My new-to-me 2015 K1300S that I bought two years ago came with RS IIIs... I didn't like them at all. I've been using the Pirelli Angel GTIIs (A spec) on the K13S and K16GT. The most recent set I bought cost $450 from Revzilla, plus $75 to mount and balance when I do the R&R!!

For more extensive work, I take the bikes to a private BMW shop in Phoenix... last time I was there the owner said he would sell me the tires and do ALL the labor, out the door for $580... just $55 more than if I do the R&R and have them mounted locally!! The drawback for me, living in a somewhat remote mountain town, is that the private shop and the BMW dealer are both 3 hours away...

On another note, my faithful riding buddy, Victory, has been laid up with a sciatica issue for a while, and it looks like he's not going to be able to make it. I've already done the route planning and reservations, but I may have to make some revisions...

I'm jealous you all are meeting up in Gunnison. I just got back from a trip to Montana and a rally in John Day, Oregon, so another long trip away from home is not in the cards. Right now I'm moving irrigation pipe, and will be for another week. Gotta do it when the irrigation district decides to give us water. Man, I thought I'd be retired when we moved here a couple years ago. Have a great time and safe travels.

I think the Yeti Saloon is a place I used to go. Then it was called something like the West Wind Tavern and claimed to be one of the oldest bars in Colorado. It looks like a "fern bar" now. Ask Jeff, I bet he knows!

Short showers would drop the temps from 88 to 63 on 141. It was a good day, temps on 141 can be over 100 in July.

We like the Dikes-Sheet rock formations on this road and no traffic.
The rock pictures are on my camera and a post from 2020.

The pass after the lakes was a nice consistent 3rd gear run.

Dropped out out the mountains this afternoon and will arrive home Tuesday. In La Junta Colorado tonight.
