SGR has gone through many changes in its 16 year history, with attendance ranging from over 30 participants to as few as 4, and we are keeping the tradition going. This year, we'll be gathering again in September for the 17th consecutive year, and there is already a fair amount of interest, including several riders coming from the eastern USA. This year, we'll be staying in Arnold, California, on the western slope of the Sierras. Arnold is right on CA Hwy 4, the road that leads us over Ebbetts Pass. We've never stayed in Arnold previously, although we have ridden through it every year when riding over Ebbetts Pass. Arnold has everything we need as far as lodging, restaurants, watering holes, fuel, and a bank. This year, we'll be staying at the Timberline Lodge in Arnold: www.arnoldtimberlinelodge.com. We'll be checking in on Wednesday, September 4th, and checking out on Sunday, September 8th. The Timberline Lodge has 22 rooms, but please be sure that you're committed when making a reservation. For reservations, call and speak to Debby: (209) 795-1053, and tell her you're with the BMW motorcycle group (yeah, I know... you can ride whatever you want). If you've ridden in the Sierras previously, you know what an awesome riding paradise it is. If you've never been before, you're in for some world-class riding and scenery!

Beth and I are going to be there for sure. I just don't know how. Fly and rent? That would be easiest. But what I really want to do is ride out by myself, then pick Beth up at the Reno airport and go to the rally. Then afterwards I could drop her off at the airport again, and then I can ride home. That gets me the most time riding, which is what I'm after.
This is going to be a fulfillment of a long-deferred dream for me.I’d rather think someone’s a son of a bitch than to have him think I’m a son of a bitch.

It's getting closer, and plans are firming up. I'm riding out , and will meet K1Dude, MattB, and maybe others in Cody, WY, on August 30. Then we'll do a scenic tour from there to Arnold. I'm already wired.I’d rather think someone’s a son of a bitch than to have him think I’m a son of a bitch.
