I was tempted to wait, too. The Pirelli Rossa is flattened on the bottom. Too many straight Oklahoma rides between THCR and AHR.

We have one new set and one 2600 mile set in the utility room so we went to our local BMW dealer to get ready for the next time we head to Texas!

This thread is not very lively, but the THCR WILL be!

Certainly, we need to sit out back at the Bandera Brewery a couple of evenings. Most importantly, get yourselves ready for STEAK NIGHT! Tuesday night is steak night at the little bar up the street. You BYOSteak and cook it on the fires provided. You pay for the set -up of potato, salad? plate and plastic wear. 10% off the steaks at the butcher shop two blocks up main street. Beer! Dancing! Food! Fighting (if you feel like it)! Wes, Elizabeth, Cathy and I went last year and it was fun. Plan on it!

In between eating and drinking and telling lies, there are some great roads that demand to be ridden. PLUS, we all need to take pictures of food to send to Tim - not to make him feel better, but to turn him green with envy. Pictures of pie at Lost Maples Cafe will make his mouth water!

I'm getting ready. Fresh rubber tomorrow.

Can't get green with envy any more. The list of foods I can't eat is pretty much everything I loved to eat. Pie, cake, cookies, pizza, hamburgers, hot dogs, fried chicken, Chinese and Thai food, all out. (Unless we cook a hamburger with 95% lean beef at home, and then just one, and just occasionally.) Beats the alternative though. Wish we were there but we will be out and about soon!

Took both bikes out today for a 25 mile check ride.

This will be the second year in a row that I've been out in hill country a week too early to meet up. It's my daughter's fault this year - her spring break - and we're visiting my son who lives in SA and works at the Alstadt Brewery in Fredreicksburg. If you like their beer, thank him. If you hate it, blame him - he's in charge of plant operations there. We got the tour of the plant on Monday and went down to Luckenbach for some refreshments and music that afternoon. Never been there before. Must be a hell of a place when there's a big name playing.



We went up and hiked Enchanted Rock today. The road from Fredericksburg is a pretty good one through the hills.

Hey Wes, we're going to ride the mid-atlantic BDR for a week and then spend another week on a long ramble back toward home visiting some minor league ball parks to find out which park has the best hotdogs. Now that she's been on a family vacation trip to hill country she wants to come back and ride it

Last year my ride started and ended in Abingdon, VA. I
had to trailer there because it was still snowing here.

Woke up in Maggie Valley to frost on my seat and said
F%*K this! Headed to Birmingham to see my daughter.

I ditched the heated gear and thermals at my daughter's
house. From there to Bandera I was on weather watch.
Can't do that again in April !
