    Opps

Beautiful Day for a ride , got about 10 miles from home pulled into a gravel lot for a drink of water. On the way out I got the front tire on the pavement when the back tire broke lose the traction control came on the bike stopped & I couldn't reach the ground. I tumbled off the right side. A guy stopped & helped me stand it up. All seemed fine so I continued on until I tried to downshift, stuck in 4th. I pulled over & found the shifter bent, how that happened I have no idea. I was about to turn around when I remembered that I would have to do a right hand uphill switchback, no way that was happening in 4th gear.
So I took the long way home, I managed to get it down to 3rd, that made it a lot easier.

Sorry to hear that Bill. Parking lot stuff and low speed stuff is the most trying for me. Especially since I'm not tall like BMWs seem to be designed for. Hopefully not much damage.

Bill, we all like our bikes to look nice, so I hope sincerely no damage was done and no shiny stuff was marred. But, hey, it's a GS.

A very sad picture.....Hope the bike is okay beyond the shifter.

Sorry to hear of your biff. Puzzling how the shifter got bent on the up side of the nap it took. Glad to hear you're ok and hopefully everything else will just buff right out.

I was wondering if his foot was under the shifter and when he fell, his foot bent the shifter up.

That had to be what happened although you'd think that I would have had some soreness in my left foot, I didn't.
No damage to the right side, it takes more than a tip over to mar a GSA

Sorry to read this, but glad you are ok. Some would say if you dropped it must be a sign to go and get a new one.

You're right Eric, if I had a 1300 with the auto lowering suspension I probably wouldn't have dropped it 😅

Bill, I'm loving my 1300GS. It's a big leap forward from my 1200GS. Nope, not going to say it.........
