Good stuff Tim. I know you guys can't wait to get back to western NC. No place like home. And I love riding through small towns like that, especially this time of year.

Thanks for the tip to reset the trip odometers from the GPS. Way more easy than using the vehicle settings!!

          North and West

Today we rode north to Hot Springs. I went through west Asheville to get to Hwy 63. The traffic was worth it. Once out of Leicester there wasn't any traffic, just roads like this.

Some were marked with speed limit signs. These always remind me of the 10mph sign on 103 heading to Oark. Rumor has it Steve did that one at 12 one day on his RR. This one's just a normal switchback.

Roughly twice what the sign says is pretty normal around here. We're just taking it easy today. Oh yeah, and we're almost outta gas.

So there you have it. A week in review, one 2018 R1200GS properly broken in and ready for her 600 mile service. Not a bad week considering the weather (freezing rain Friday night), farkleing the GS, Thanksgiving, final touches on moving in, and getting our license and tags for the Jeep and car. Now all we have to do is decide where to go, North, South, East, or West.

Susan loves it. It's a lot like the K75s seating position. We put 101,000 miles on that little bike, cross country several times!

The 75's seat looks more concave, but both look super plush and comfy. Plus she's obviously very bike-fit over the years. Onya Susan!

Why? Isn't it a bike you get down on your knees in front of and worship?

The Service Manager wants 650 to 1000 miles. Obviously the programmers want 600 to 649. 650 is a milestone event to them!

BTW, on a BMW car the service reminder is a chime and a HUGE red triangle in the instrument panel. Scares the crap out of ya the first time!

True dat, but after looking at it off and on for many miles I realized the important info is still displayed around the WARNING. Then I accidentally rolled the wheel in display mode the WARNING went away and the normal screen came back. (the wheel controls the instruments and the GPS now) BTW, LOW FUEL is the same full screen. Can't say the bike didn't try to tell ya something!
