Back in the day when LC bikes were just to be released or when the first ones were out, all who had recently bought a pre LC bike kept on and on about how a few more horses, or the complexity of two radiators up front, and all new gadgetry were going to fail, and how their reliable airheads and oil heads were......
            Thats what I meant.

WC is for sure more complex but it ain't rocket science. If I had just bought a pre-WC bike I'd try to justify my purchase too. Especally if you were unwilling to be another iteration of a BMW beta tester. But to say a WC isn't much better is just goofy...

Mani, having been one of the first to own a LC GS (2014 model) I can argue (in the literal sense) a few of your points. Everyone, and I mean everyone, was talking about how much smoother the LC engine was, how it required far less downshifting. No one, and I mean no one, not in person, not in any publication that I ever read, was concerned with the reliability. It was, simply put, far far ahead of the oil head it replaced. The new shift technology engine will no doubt be better than the original LC engine but I seriously doubt it will be as significant as the original LC engine was.
That said, I hope BMW sells tens of thousands of them. You should trade up.

Tim you rode my new LC GSA in KY rally before you even thought about it. Let me jog your memory, ole man. Doug is right.

I rode your GS around the parking lot, yes. And I'm agreeing with Doug. Why would anyone not?

                      p.s. Ole Man troubles

Just Kiddin. Really, we ought to plan a cage ride sometime. Will be a good change.

All in all something to ponder over the next few weeks.

Karl, I am afraid to test this one. My 1200 rides just fine, but have the XR for kicks. I'm gonna let things be where they are for now.

If this was to be a stable mate of the XR I would have bought it without question, however for me this would replace the XR, a difficult decision, also thinking of picking up a used Gs to add to the stable instead.
