Dadgummit, Tim! I watched half of this video before I figured out it wasn't you and Susan passing all those dudes doodling around on the Mountain Course! I wondered why the K wasn't passing guys faster LOL!

Question for those who have installed Helibars. How do you keep the clutch cable from snagging on the ignition plug cover. The cable is secured against the faring and is threaded around a part of the wiring harness, so it would be difficult to get in there and Can I file off the point of the plug cover so the clutch cable can slide over it more easily?

Hi, you have to clip the zip tie inside the right fairing. It hard to get in there but be very careful that all you clip is the tie. Once that's done the clutch line will be just long enough to clear the ignition. Clipping the zip has no negative effects.

Just the one zip tie on each. It's the first one you get too when chasing the respective lines down into the fairing.

Brake cable still catches a bit. I may just leave the switch cover off.

A little more upright and comfortable position. The change isn't radical structurally (only about an inch up and half an inch back) but I think it's going to be enough to significantly reduce pressure on my wrists. Doesn't look any different at a glance.

Ride about two hours this evening. No wrist pain. The position is upright to the point where I can hold the grips and have virtually no forward leaning pressure. This is really going to help alot. Thanks for the advice to try theses helibars before giving up on the KS.

With the KRS we found the faster we rode the less stress on the wrists and shoulders.

Headed to see the sports medicine doctor on Tuesday to talk mainly about the minimally invasive carpel tunnel surgery for my throttle hand. It's gotten to the point where it only takes 15 minutes for half my hand to fall asleep. So we'll see.

Bobby, you may want to try Grip Puppies. I just installed them (chimp simple to do) and will know in a few days what I think of them. We leave for Arkansas on Thursday. I'll post my thoughts soon thereafter.

Grip Puppies, about 20 dollars from Amazon. (Do not get Grip Buddies. Different animal.)

Hope you have success with those. I just came from the sport medicine doc and she referred me to an orthopedic hand specialist for a consultation. So while see.

Just an fyi...and I endorse them too. But: Your heated grips will take longer to feel (if you have them) and when hot they can drag on the throttle housing so don't but them all the way up tight. And lastly, they'll soak up water if your bike is out in the rain unprotected. Still, worthy addition.

The heated grips on the K12RS are too hot so maybe a good addition.

Wonder if turning on the heated grips will dry them out?

I've had Grip Puppies on ALL my bikes for years. IMHO they are the best of all the grip enhancers out there.

I have a funny feeling we won't notice if they do. Heading to Arkansas tomorrow morning. Friday night / Saturday morning looks, shall we say, adventurous.

mud, yes. especially that POS GA red clay. Believe it or not, my Husky still has it.
Rain, no. I have no issues with it. But going to a gathering with it being a wash is painful.

OK, Grip Puppies were too large for my liking. They have several endorsements though. For 20 bucks give the a try!
