I got my first shot today. second shot in 3 weeks..

My daughter got hers about 3-4 weeks ago, but she works in the local hospital. She also got the virus back in march from a hospital patient.
At the time they thought it was the flu. only when she had her blood tested months later did they realize that they had the virus.

The age requirement will be dropped to 65 in Iowa. I'm 65 but Debbie won't be 65 until July.
Sounds like Iowa is in short supply of the vaccine. Iowa is ranked 46th nationally in the vaccine allocation.
        Here's Phase 1B starting Feb 1st.

My lawyer friends and I are getting our TV ads ready:

"Attention! Did YOU get the Covid-19 vaccine in 2021? If you did, and if you have experienced sniffles, coughs, headaches, toenail fungus, or erectile dysfunction at any time since taking the vaccine, you may be eligible for millions of dollars of compensation from the drug companies that rushed these novel vaccines to the public. Call (800) 937-8336 [(800) We sue em]. Call now and become eligible for the compensation that you so deserve! Dewey, Chetham and Howell, aggressive attorneys serving YOUR interests."

Mike, "Dewey, Chetham and Howell" predates Car Talk, although I laughed every time they said it. Who am I going to sue? It's a joke, Mike.

My S-I-L is in SD, 74 and no estimated time of availability. I think she said 80+ for non essential folks. But, SD is f**** up with most things!

I got the shot in about 25 minutes after I got in line. They make you sit in the parking lot for at least 15 minutes to see how you react.

It won't be available to me, 67 yo, here in Oregon for a long time. The phased approach was to inoculate health workers first, then 80+, 75+, 70+, 65+. Now the governor has said that teachers and other school people are also in the high priority group. Bottom line for me is that I have to wait for quite awhile.....maybe April, May.....dunno. We are taking all precautions from here on out.

Teachers are screaming the want it next, but their union didn't
support him when he ran for reelection. Ooops !

We've been cautious and followed cdc guidelines from the beginning. Now we're being extra careful because we'd hate to get the virus at this point...just before getting the vaccine. No more trips to the hardware store or any other nonessential business. Basically we've gone from being cautious out in public to lockdown mode.

I did a job for a marriage counselor that works from home via zoom that said he was getting the vaccine.
How is he essential when he can work from home?

That's what happens when states and local government decide who gets the vaccine...it varies from place to place. My healthy, work from home, sister got the vaccine....she lives in New York. I'll be lucky to get it by May. Go figure.

Pete, you guys taking the Trump vaccine that was rushed to service under relaxed rules are brave. Even though Trump was right and the naysayers were wrong, about having it in service before the end of the year, I think I might wait until Biden's FDA approves the next series of vaccines.

Yes, I agree. All you early testers should get it done and complete. That way, we have a larger base of information to work on in consideration of getting it ourselves.

It's a win-win. More vaccine for those who do want it now. Maybe I won't have to toss a tv through a department store window after all.

I'll wait to see what happens to y'all.
And I'm not getting the Russian vaccine Nicaragua wants to distribute to 3MM Nicaraguans. Heck no.
I've seen quite a few people in my circle getting COVID, not too many, but a substantial amount.
Not me yet, though I could be asymptomatic.

Not getting no Russian or China vaccine, it's a ploy to take over the world.
Probably a chip in there that's going straight to our brain and take us over.
