Got my second Pfizer shot on St. Patrick day. Long line. Slight soreness in arm. A little bit of a headache. Fine now.

The VA is encouraging vets to be vaccinated, particularly in my age group. With mixed feelings, I got my 1st dose of the Moderna vaccine last week. My current dilemma... I can't get the 2nd dose until two days before I leave for THCR. Considering that a significant percentage of recipients feel pretty crappy for a few days after the 2nd dose, I've decided to postpone my 2nd dose until I return... if at all, since I'm still a bit skeptical about it!

Charlie I felt a little weak and had a mild headache the day after my second shot. I worked all day though and an afternoon cup of coffee made things much better.

Charlie, I don't know the efficacy of the vaccine after the first dose I believe it's pretty significant, so you should be protected during your trip. Just my opinion, but I would get the second shot when e get back.

From everything I've heard, you should feel better after two days. I'd get it.
But, they also say you're not fully immunized for two weeks after the second shot.

Charlie, I'd advise you to not ride after taking the 2nd dose. Most if not all have no significant symptoms, but its wise to take it easy and let your body do its thing.
No harm in delaying it a lil bit, although their studies have shown optimum booster benefit in 28 days for the Moderna and 21 for the Pz.

Thanks, Mani... I'll re-schedule for when I return from THCR... it will be 6 weeks or less from the 1st dose.

Debbie got her first shot the other day and will wait until after THCR for the 2nd.
You can wait 4 to 6 weeks for the 2nd shot and there is some talk of even going longer.

the 4 to 6 weeks is for Moderna.
        It's shorter for Pfizer.

I am eligible for the vaccine on Monday. I think I will wait another couple of months to schedule though so that others who are more concerned can get theirs and stop worrying so much.

1st shot today. Moderna. 2nd shot April 21 which is perfect. We get back from THCR 4:20.

We should be able to get Susan scheduled on our return. She's Group 5 after pet owners and people with Goldfish.

Tim, my 39 y/o daughter that lives near Birmingham, AL got her 1st today. The pharmacy had extra vaccines and she went in.
Get her on a will-call list.

Debbie put her name in a local pharmacy to be called when they had a cancellation. I think it was less than a week when she got a call.
No questions about her age or health, they just wanted to make sure a vaccine did not get wasted.

My daughter lives in Montana and was also able to get her name on a list at the local hospital. They called her just before closing one day so she was able to get vaccinated. No question about age.

Charlie, I've had both doses of Moderna, and aside from a sore arm for a day, and a mild headache for 1/2 day after dose two, I had no problems. Believe in the science.

Tennessee Governor Bill Lee has opened vaccinations for everyone over 16 years old on April 5th. Knox County Health Department, citing Gov. Lee's order, opened vaccinations to anyone over 16 years old today. Yes, anyone can now get a shot in Knox County starting right now.

Mike ,it was the Moderna vaccine that I got .
Like I said to Pete , it was the bad management in the ordering of the vaccine that put us behind in the vaccination campaign ( did I mention before that Trudeau is an asshole ?) . So they wanted to be sure a majority of the population had their first shot before starting the second round . That being said , I think that the most at risk , ie the elderlies and the health system workers won't have to wait that long .

Not getting into politics either, but our fucktard government is too busy covering up raping and masturbating over female staffers desks by senior politicians than worrying about the vaccine.
Not sure if anyone here has got it yet. Maybe just the rapists

FYI - like Martin's, this is not a political comment

As some of you may recall, Karin and I began participating in the J&J Phase 3 vaccine trial back in December. We got a shot then but weren't told whether we got the vaccine or the placebo. Because they "unblinded" the study last week we were informed that we both got the vaccine. Unreal because neither of us had any reaction. Not even a sore arm.
