Hey JB , I've got some shine at home , for when you come to visit in September ...

This could put a damper on the BRPR: The stay-at-home order calls for residents to stay home except to obtain food and other essential services, obtain medical care, travel to and from work, take care of other persons or care for animals, visit a relative, travel to and from an educational institution, volunteer with a group providing charitable or social services, or exercise outdoors with social distancing.

"To date, this has been a suggestion to Virginians," Northam said. "Today it's an order."

The order is in effect from Monday until June 10, unless changed or rescinded by another executive order.

Good point Keith. We've still got a couple of months, we'll see what happens. I was hoping for a getaway even if it wasn't a large gathering.

I may be mistaken, but this would be the Twentieth Annual BRPR.
My first was in April of 2002, it was the most attended of them all.
I think I've made eight of them in every location except Snoweshoe, WV.

I've got a reminder on my calendar in early May to make the call to the Watstull to cancel my room. It would be great if we could reschedule. Last year was my first time attending and was really looking forward to it again this year.

On a different note, my big family trip to Spain this summer isn't likely to happen now so I might be available to participate in the Colorado gathering.

I liked this post because you may be able to do Colorado. Unfortunately, the trip to Spain is the casualty here.

I think if I have to cancel my room because of the stay at home order I will let the keep my one night deposit. They been good to us and I think they could use it.

I watched an interview last night with a major hotel CEO... this is one the Covid-19's most devastated industries. He said that recovery would take at least 5 to 8 years for the hotel industry...

Have to admit that I'm glad to no longer be in the lodging biz. So many franchises that don't have a lot of cash reserves are in trouble, no matter the flag. There'll be a bunch of properties to purchase for the bottom fishers...

I hope we can travel by July, we have a reservation for Colorado.
Today I'm canceling a Texas trip in May.

I have to agree with the posts of the last couple of days. With Virginia's stay at home order, it surely looks like this years BRPR just isn't going to be a go. I agree that Furman's idea is really good for the reasons cited!

Yeah, I haven't cancelled yet, maybe foolishly optimistic. Think I'll do like Wes, wait until about the first of May and see where all of this is. Or maybe just Wes and I go, make it the Wes Rally.

Maryland gave out guidance that it's fine to go out for a drive as long as you're just driving and not visiting. I'm probably going to reach my breaking point in the next several days where I take off for a day ride. I'm weak and I fear that my addiction to rolling around on two wheels is going to overpower my judgement about not wanting to see the inside of an ER.

You know, if it comes down to it and the crisis is waning by mid-May, I might be inclined to pack the GS with enough food and drinks for a few days; my camping gear; and go off on the Wes Rally somewhere in the GW Nat. Forest where I can primitive camp without the need for an open camp ground. Can't find much more social distance than that.

The CDC says that you need 65% alcohol to destroy the virus so I suggest we have the event but only bring libations of 130 proof or better.

If the Kentucky Contingent shows up, that would not be a problem!

Again, maybe I'm foolishly optimistic, or maybe I'm just f'in stupid, but sounds like social distancing is having the desired effect and the forecast for the peak keeps getting earlier. May be ok by the end of May. Might have to still social distance so Joe and Matt can't wrestle this year but you can't have everything.

But on the bright side, you can keep your distance from Joe without insulting him...not that that would matter! Lol!

Yeah, I wouldn't get my hopes up to much, I think the worse is yet to come.
