So when you come back next year just hook up with a local guide. I know someone who might show you around. Glad you guys had a good time.

Ironically I once thought them ugly but now I actually like the look. As for the handling I figured it out, and yet, I have no clue how they do it. What i figured out - the GS/GSA handle so well because even on full float mode they only float up and down. There is zero feel of any frame flex. So whether on Rain, Road, Dynamic, or Enduro they still handle like they have no right to. The part I don't have figured out is - how did BMW do that? Put any other bike suspension on mush and it handles like crap, but the GS just doesn't care. It's kinda like a Golden Retriever, nothing upsets it. It just wags it's tail and ask to play more.
    Weirdly fastening.

Off road it does things very well that it probably shouldn't be doing at all.

Thank for coordinating the meeting Joe and for putting together a great ride report. I didn't make the decision to go until the Wednesday before the BRP Rally due to concerns about my old K1200RS. I had a great time (except for two near head on collisions). The bike preformed excellent during the 1300 spirited riding and only used/leaked 1/2 quart oil during the trip. I can better trust my KRS on these longer trips. Hopefully, we can all do it again next year.

My tracks for the BRPR weekend. Hmmm, is there a way to post a link to photos in my smugmug site or must they be uploaded here?

EDIT: never mind - figgered it out.
