Not up to Texas courthouse standards but I still liked it.


There was a good museum in Wallace, Ks we visited 2 years ago we wanted to finish but it was getting hot and decided to keep making miles while the temp was below 100.

Oakley Kansas had a good visitor center that made for a good cooling stop.






After that we had a road construction stop on new blacktop for 15 minutes or so. 100 F


Temps hit 102 after that.

Debbie still had a sense of humor when I stopped at this sign. She noticed there were 641 beaver in this town.

In Kansas the two lane limit was 65 mph. I set my cruise at 73 or 74 GPS speed and two different counties we met unmarked Sheriff trucks who didn't even flash the emergency grille lights.
After the construction we were behind four cars going 68, but we left a big gap behind car number 4 as 73 was good enough.
The group met a Sheriff SUV and the lights came on and he made a U turn in front of us.
We did not make eye contact as we rode by.

RMR 2022 via Idaho on our trusty steed, Bullet. Our first stop was a quick water break somewhere in Kentucky.


And then it came from the east. It rained, the wind blew, cars pulled over, we galloped onward.


We couldn't stop. We had to see Mothman in Point Pleasant, WV.


The next morning we were too early for a burlesque dog at O'Betty's in Ohio. We did score a sticker from the nice owner though.


The Big Muskie in Ohio could hold a dog. Several packs in fact.


One of he last of the hand operated river locks left in America, built in the 1800's. Located in Ohio.


We stopped by the AMA Museum in Pickerington, Ohio. Our first visit was 20 years or more.


We stopped for the evening as in Berne, Indiana. They have a clock tower.


James Dean memorial in Fairmount, Indiana.


James Dean museum and gallery. James Dean liked Triumph motorcycles. Cleo was guarding the place.

Route 66, Odell Illinois.


They had a nice assortment of original displays and tools.


We're certainly having a lot of weather lately.


Captain Kirk was conceived 9 months prior at Murphy's Bar and Grill just down the street.


We found quite a few good placed to eat on tis trip.

Crazy Horse. The entry fee was crazy. We left on our horse.

Right along here we received a text that our next lodging was likely unavailable due to the Moose Mountain wildfire in North Fork, Idaho.

Checking on the wildfire status.


Smoke, and a mandatory evacuation order. The fire is only 2 miles away.


We were able to get the last room at the Super8 in Salmon, Idaho 20 miles down Hwy 93. Halfway between the wildfire and Salmon we came thisclose to having a high speed crash with a Bighorn Sheep. Really really close. It's pretty along the Salmon River though.

We did a rest day in Torrey and went 11 miles east to a National Park homestead in that serves home made pie!

Dunlop Roadsmart 4s at 5600 miles. While at Grand Junction HD, BMW, KTM one of the service writers told a dude his brake pads we worn out, he didn't believe her and wanted to see them. Another service writer told another dude, "Hey dude, your tires are date 2006."


Headed back to Gunnison. Good thing we missed that microwave sized rock in the middle of the road. By the way, we're certainly having a bit of weather today.

Delivery is a good thing. We avoid the rain and the hysterical wedding party.

Tim . . . 5600 miles on the Dunlop 4's. They look pretty good. I'd PROBABLY go a bit farther. Matt would DEFINITELY ride another 2000 miles or so!

Charlie, We stopped in at Bentonville BMW in Arkansas a few years back. The owner pulled up on a new BMW LT as Susan was dismounting our K1200S. He said, "You two need a touring bike." Susan's reply was priceless. She said, "We've got one."
