Surely the whole road is not closed.
Yes, I called you Shirley.

The road will be open to local traffic until you get to the bridge.
Nobody will stop you if you want to check out the bridge construction.
A lot of times we run down a road to see if it's really closed
My guess is they will have a gravel low water crossing, but it may be wet in April.

Victory and I are in... I haven't been down there in over a decade. We'll be leaving my house in Show Low, AZ on 4/11, spend the night in Van Horn and then on to Chisos Mining in Terlingua on 4/12. We've got a cabin at the River Front Motel for the 13th, 14th, and 15th... looking forward to seeing y'all!!

Pre-THCR in Terlingua 2010
2010 was a pretty good year in terms of turnout from all over. Charlie, Ray & David (kanf) rode in from CA, Eric & Martin from north of the border, Drew, Lainey & Dan from the NE somewhere, BillA & Joe rode in from Hunt where they got a taste of a Texas flood, Boyd from AR, Pete from FL, Robert from TN, Lee & Debbie, Tim & his wife from KS, Xavier, Kyle, Randy, JamesTexas & his buddy Wayne, James (the Dr. from Midland), Kevin & John from Ohio, Loner, Alan from Houston and I'm sure I'm forgetting some others.
THCR 2012
2012 was the year Larry (in the orange shirt) invited us up to his place for some socializing and dinner. And another good turnout... Victory, Joe, Jeff, Ray, Alan, Karl, Rob, Bert, X & Tamar, Loner, Pat, Pete, Lee & Debbie, that chic from Houston & her boyfriend. I'm sure I forgot a few.
That was the year Tim & Susan came down in their Z.
That was also the year Steve & I rode out to Terlingua from Dallas for the pre cause Gary was gonna ride out there from Austin with his son, Wes. A funny thing happened one evening while we were there. Victory brought out some quality bourbon and set it on the table during our after hours socializing. Gary's a bourbon guy and had a taste and said, "damn, that's pretty good". Wes heard him say it too and leaned over to me & said, "Hey, watch this... I'm gonna get my dad fucked up". Later on, I remember watching Wes walk Gary back to their room as Gary weaved back & forth. Those of us that were left after that, adjourned to James' room to sample some party favors and continue our debauchery. After about 10 minutes, Wes comes busting through the door screaming, "You can't hide! I knew all you old guys were in here smoking pot... I want some!" We all busted out laughing. Needless to say, Wes accomplished his mission and Gary was moving pretty slow the next day. Hell, I think we all were!!
Great memories with all you hooligans & I've had sooo much fun over the years. Glad I fell in with some like minded miscreants.Last edited by McFly; 03-05-2021, 10:50 PM."Everybody knows you never go full retard". - Kirk Lazarus

Not without wings or trespassing on a ranch to look for a place to ford the creek. Near the bridge, that's about a 15' vertical cliff to get down to the creek.
We talked to the Foreman on site who said it would be at least another month but probably more before it would open. Hope they get it open for you guys
