          Sheffield is a young American on the cusp of a stellar career.

        Determining chain length for a new chain...See the Park Tool video;

        https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=O0YibMDWBAw

        Great Video! BUT, additional chain links may be needed depending on the length of the rear derailleur jockey wheel cage. Mine is a Shimano 105 GS and requires 6 additional rivets worth of chain to be added rather than the 2 recommended in the video. I'm sure the latter works for a standard short cage rear derailleur.

              When not riding a pedal-bike, the guy on the far right with the creepy grin rides a GS.

            Shimano Quick Links can only be used one time as after the first removal they may pop off if reattached!

            There was a clicking noise as the chain passed thru the rear derailleur. Upon closer inspection this was due to a tight link rivet in the opposite end of the link adjacent to the Quick Link. The chain breaker tool was used in the 2nd position to reset the involved rivet. Only took about an eight of a turn. Clicking resolved.

            Warning: The thinner chains for 11 and 12 speeds have very thin outer plates. It is easy to not have the re-inserted rivet properly aligned/inserted and for the plate to come loose as a result with these chains. It is highly recommended to not reuse rivets but rather to use a quick link or a new replacement rivet specific for the make and model of your chain. If you are out of the saddle and the chain breaks, you can expect serious impact to the crotch by the top tube.

              Post revised. The clicking noise was not due to the Quick Link but to a tight rivet. See revised post above.

                      I think this is a special tourists/fans train that follows the race. A few years ago the commentators commented on such. I'm not sure, but it sounds like it would be fun. If I remember correctly it takes you from the start of some races to the end of a stage. The rendezvous with the peleton is no accident. I suspect this photo was captured in or shortly after the neutral zone. Although, eveyone seems to be putting down some power.

                      It was about mid race. Good info about the train.
