I have never had a professional "bike fit." I'm sure that I'm throwing away some power by not optimizing my fit, but I just am not good enough to see much difference. As to comfort, I must not be very particular either. I ride several different bikes I own, as well as some bikes friends have. The one area I notice most, is that in the past 10 years, the angle my head needs to rise to to see far forward, is an issue. I don't like fighting myself to keep looking up. It hurts my neck.

As to seats and angles that they may sit at, I really don't care too much so long as it is slightly downward. I make sure my "sit bones" have an adequate area on which to rest, especially on the back half of the saddle.

Like you Bears, my general position is much as i was in 1968!

    CYCLING BURNOUT

    Symptoms of cycling burnout include:
Fatigue: A lack of energy and feeling exhausted
Sleep issues: Difficulty sleeping or insomnia
Mood changes: Depression or low mood
Changes in appetite: Changes in appetite
Decreased performance: A feeling that the effort put in doesn't match the outcome
Social isolation: Isolating from cycling peers
Poor time management: Poor time management
Muscle fatigue: A decrease in muscle strength, soreness, or physical exhaustion

Some common causes of cycling burnout are: over training, lack of proper rest, and stress.

Here are some tips to help you avoid cycling burnout:
Mix up your routine. For example, if you usually ride indoors, try riding outside.
Take a break. Consider taking a week or two off.
Eat well. Eat anti-inflammatory foods like berries, fish, fruit, vegetables, and turmeric.
Reduce stress. Try self-care techniques like taking a bath, reading a book, meditating, or doing yoga.

Sturmy-Archers? The hubs look too small.

Using latex inner tubes in tubeless tires is nearly as fast as setting them up tubeless. The most significant performance penalties are the higher weight of the inner tube and the loss of the re-sealing in case of a puncture that tubeless sealant in tubeless tires offers.

Bears, have you ever used latex tubes? I never have, but remain curious.

          How about TPU tubes?

Continental Tire acceptable tire size to rim size chart. More lenient than previous recommendations.

We went to the High Trestle Bridge Trail yesterday so Debbie could try out her new E Bike.
They added a new extension to the trail and it now goes between Perry and Ankeny Iowa.
          https://www.polkcountyiowa.gov/conse...trestle-trail/

This trail now connects to the 89 mile Racoon River Valley Trail.
          https://www.raccoonrivervalleytrail.org/

Both trails are paved Rails to Trails.

Debbie bought a Specialized Turbo Vado SL 4.0
          https://www.specialized.com/us/en/tu...=367262-216534

For a year or more we have been looking for a E Bike for her that did not weigh 50 or 60 pounds and had a decent range.
This one weighs 34 pounds and is about 5 pound heavier than her Trek hybrid.
When I rode it without any assist turned on it felt very similar to my hybrid.
She wanted something easy to pedal if the battery ran out.
The first half of the ride she used the lowest assist, but then the wind started and we had a 20 mph headwind to return to the car.
She changed to the highest level assist level and I was having a hard time keeping up. I was on my hybrid and wishing I had my road bike so I could tuck down some.

Nice, post. Debbie looks grea. The trestle bridge makes me dizzy.

Great recommendation for the E-Bike. Thanks for the pics and post.

We would like to see the bridge at night.
I've heard a lot of people go when there's a full moon.
The bridge also gets plenty of walkers because it's only about 3 miles from Woodward or Madrid.

One thing we liked about the Turbo Vado SL 4.0, it did not come with fenders and rack. A lot of the E Bikes we looked at had fenders and rack. Most cases the rack used the fenders for support.
2016 when I bought my carbon fiber frame bike I switched to a Sarris rack the clamps to the tires instead of the frame.

If a person wants fenders you can buy a Turbo Vado SL 4.0 EQ. $500 more for the fenders and rack.

Is the carrier rated for an e-bike's weight?
I have a Holywood one for the RV because there's a lot of bounce way back there.

So now Debbie can set the pace and you can draft her on training rides.....

One disadvantage to Debbie's model is the rear light screws into the bottom of the seat. If she changes the seat I'll have to get creative on how to attach the light.
The front and rear lights do not have a flash mode.

Maybe add smaller front and back lights with flash mode?

This reminds me, I still have lots of weight to lose!

                  Why Weight Training For Cyclists....
                  • Maintenance, to prevent the atrophy of muscles as we age.
                  • Strength, the capacity to lift a very heavy load once or twice.
                  • Endurance, the capacity to exert less strength but multiple times.
                  • Hypertrophy, to increase muscle size.
                  • Bone strength, to prevent loss of bone mass.
