SD has very low numbers, only 801 active cases in the state, but that will probably change big time after Sturgis.
If Gunnison County closes, the Black Hills could be a plan B for me and Debbie.

Any rumor it might close? They have very low numbers and no new cases.

Wish Iowa would close our bars again as the young crowd are not following any of the precautions.
Last Friday there was a idiot adult that tested positive and still went out to two bars.
Not sure what will happen to him. The strange thing is he's the safety officer at one of the factories here in town.

Got my K1300S securely strapped into my Honda Ridgeline. I added a support strap for the right-side of the Dual-Action Tailgate. I'll be towing an Aluminum Trailer with 2 Kawasaki's too.

I would also use a board or sheet of plywood that extends out onto the tailgate to make sure you don't bend the tailgate..

I seem to recall that Randy also installed some tie down cleats of some sort in the plywood as well...

I don't have a picture but I used a full sheet of plywood that extends into the tailgate for extra support, and I screw in some 2x4s to hold the front wheel from turning. Simple and it's always worked.

Hi Pete, I made the right side support strap from 1/4 x 3/4 inch Aluminum Stock and some 800 Lbs Rated End Links: Here's my post on the ROC Forum: https://www.ridgelineownersclub.com/...upport.223007/

Here are a couple of pics of Randy's tie down methodology. He had the chock bolted to the plywood. That later proved to be less than optimum as the bolts eventually pulled through. No damage other than to the plywood (3/4 inch marine grade if I recall correctly).

Here's the finished product. The tailgate extender looks good and prevents any errant or lonely ramps from evacuating.

I'm guessing after that he added some big washers or metal plate under the plywood.

I mounted an Extreme Maxx steel Wheel Chock using 2x2x1/8 Inch Aluminum Angle Stock secured to the OEM Ty-down Mount Bolts.

I looked into it when I was thinking about pulling a small Casita trailer with my bike in the bed. I heard many stories of damage occurring to the tailgate when the truck enters a steep incline.

Say bye bye to that nice paint finish on the tailgate. It gets sand blasted.

I did almost 10,000 miles last summer with the tailgate down and the paint is fine. It's denting the tailgate as you go up a steep driveway or hill that concerns me.

Looks really strong. Could hold a Harley and then some.

                    "doggie" I like that.

New hoops today from Eurosport BMW in Asheville NC. These are the old ones, Road 5s with a little over 800 miles on them. Colorado will be a minimum of 4600 miles. I've read a few tale of people getting poor mileage out of the Road 5s and since we seldom get over 5k on anything I didn't want to risk us being on cords 500 miles from home on the return trip.

Eurosport will remount these when we get back. As a bonus we got to ride around today on a new R1250RS. More on that in Daytrips.
