New grill ?, still thinking about bringing smoker however. Maybe one night of pulled pork?

Last week I did a slow smoked 13 lb full packer brisket. I put it on about 9pm and we had it for lunch the next day:
225 for 12 hours, wrapped in butcher paper and back on at 250 for another 2 hours. Rested on the counter for an hour before carving it. I'm still perfecting my carnivorous craft but this was was as good as anything I ate in Texas Hill Country. I need to learn to trim it a bit better before it goes in the smoker.

I'm afraid that I will have to miss another chance to hang out with the crew for another year. I had to get a new left hip on 2/28 and because I have had previous back surgeries, it couldn't be done the minimally invasive way. I'll be lucky to be able to take a short ride by June so a lot of riding is out of the question for me. Everybody have a great and safe time!

Just for info Meadow Event Park is a pretty good ways outside of Richmond. It's up by Kings Dominion in Doswell. You can easily miss Richmond proper to get there. I can tell you how! Secretariat was born there if I remember correctly.

He got me looking at the map & here's what I came up with...
43 to Eagle Rock

42 to 16 (Back of the Dragon)
16 south to the Hungry Mother Overlook

460 to 42 back to New castle
156 miles to The hungry mother overllook
172 back to the wattstull
May be a bit ambitious but I think it's doable

It's a nice enough road and I've ridden it several times on my way back and forth from the south but if I had a choice to ride 311 through Paint Bank or ride 16 from Marion to Tazwell I'd take 311 every day. Or 250 from Monterey over to 219. Or a half dozen other roads more doable from the Wattstull base.
