After a couple attempts where their "computers are down" I finally got a reservation today. In on Thursday, out on Sunday. Looking forward to it.

Going to make my reservation today. Looking forward to new roads to explore. But will miss the last 100 miles I used to do on the BRP on the way to the Wattstull Inn.

I beg to differ sir. There is most definitely a bald knob in that picture.

Beth and I have reservations made. I've been to Elkins a lot, as my grandparents lived there and my dad grew up there. The riding in the area is pretty spectacular!
I’d rather think someone’s a son of a bitch than to have him think I’m a son of a bitch.

If Elkins runs out of rooms, Snowshoe, just down the road, might have some including some chalet rentals. Nice roads between there and Elkins.

FYI, reservations can only be made if you donate 2 beers or 1 burger to my indulgence fund. I have secured this with the hotel so do not try to circumvent my whims.

I'm told I got the early bird senior discount: one snack from the vending machine and whatever 2 month old Easter jelly beans I find in the bottom of my jacket pockets.

Another route suggestion, this will be the Smoke Hole Rd route.
Take Rt 33 east to Seneca Rocks

            https://youtu.be/DiorhZ9RwbQ?si=GWhgLaoJPfv7R-94

Turn left on Rt 28 go about 20 miles then turn right on Smoke Hole Rd. You'll come to a T turn left (right is a dead end) another T Shreve's Country store is on the left. This time to the left is a dead end turn right & follow the river to Rt220 turn right on 220 south.

            https://youtu.be/JUmffWiKjuM?si=2Fj-MTwbDBZay4fZ

Go about 1.5 miles on 220 to Upper Tract & turn left on Schmucker Rd
Go about 3 miles & turn right on Kiser Gap Rd
Go about 3 miles & stay straight on Troublesome Valley Rd
Go about .5 miles & turn left on Siple Mountain Rd

            https://youtu.be/2Nx7fN3lbrA?si=mFixJuQGx1w4eBS3

At the end on Siple mountain turn right on Sweedlin Valley Rd
Sweedlin ends at Rt 33 you can turn left & climb the ridge dividing VA & WV in this video, it's less then 15 miles from Sweedlin Valley. There's a parking lot on the right at the top if there's still construction on the VA side you can turn around here if not there's a parking lot right at the bottom of the hill to turn around.
Also there's gas & food in Brandywine (Brandywine Family Dinning)

            https://youtu.be/qlaImiaDf1w?si=LlqigM1AqyIrsIB7

If you don't want to climb the ridge turn right on Rt 33
You'll go thru Franklin (gas & food, Subway) then climb a ridge on the way down the other side be sure to stop at the Germany Valley overlook it will be on your right & there's signs.

Click image for larger version Name:	GX1000241696446981.jpg Views:	1 Size:	148.9 KB ID:	56107

Continuing west on 33 the turn to Spruce Knob will be on the left at the Gateway Dinner. Briery Gap Rd takes you up, it's about 14 miles to the top all paved. There's a couple turns all Marked.

Click image for larger version Name:	20210330_123533.jpg Views:	1 Size:	152.5 KB ID:	56108

Then Rt 33 back to the Inn. If you do it all it's about 200 miles.

            Another Route Suggestion...

Take Rt 33 east all the way into Virginia, hopefully the construction in Va is done or at least they're not working.

Rt 33 eastbound heading to Seneca Rocks https://youtu.be/DiorhZ9RwbQ?si=GWhgLaoJPfv7R-94

At the bottom of the mountain turn around & head back to Brandywine

            https://youtu.be/qlaImiaDf1w?si=DIqMUHs_uI0SBcvf

In Brandywine turn left on Sugar Grove Rd
In Sugar Grove turn left to stay on Sugar Grove Rd
Sugar Grove Rd becomes Cowpasture River Rd continue to Rt 250
Turn right on 250 & take it into WV
            Turn right on Rt 28
In Cherry Grove turn right on Snowy Mountain Rd

            Snowy Mountain Rd https://youtu.be/rpuyonNZN7M?si=_Bpc2d_93RvwI2jh

Snowy Mountain ends at Rt 220 turn right
Either take 220 to 250 in Monterey & turn right
Or turn right on Blue Grass Valley Rd & take it to 250 & turn right

            Blue Grass Valley Rd https://youtu.be/NMB5gr2HCaM?si=o5D40i84hyY_xKxj

250 west back to the Inn. About 250 miles

My daughter is going to be here until Tuesday morning.
It's a three day ride, so I may be there for the weekend now.
Working on the details before making a reservation I can't
            get out of.

Thinking about actually coming to my 2nd event. Last and only one was KHC in Cumberland about 10 or 15 years ago. Always seem to have conflict but have retired, that means I should have time to do what I want....

Is a nice area to ride

              Another suggestion...170 miles

Rt 33 east to Harman, 26 miles
Turn left on Rt 32, take 32 thru the Canaan Valley, Davis (Blackwater falls is outside of Davis), Tomas.
Straight onto Rt 219 north to Rt 50

              219 & 50 https://youtu.be/wfkGyamj0O0?si=vLUEKnYFja-ry_ZO

              Turn right on Rt 50
Go 33 miles & Turn right on Knobley Rd (watch for Amish buggies & their exhaust )

              Knobley Rd

If you don't mind a little dirt Tucker Ridge Rd is a left off of Knobley then parallels Knobley. At the end Turn right then left back onto Knobley.

              Tucker Ridge https://youtu.be/-iYSiG5cM-c?si=btXysaFlJOyRoNdw

Turn right on Greenland Gap Rd

Greenland Gap, you'll be going the opposite direction https://youtu.be/KGzQFUmyfIw?si=mrtBmWaMafwTvWQo

At the end Turn left then left again on Rt 42
Turn right on Jordan Run Rd take it to the end
Turn right on Rt 28 to Seneca Rocks
???Turn right on Rt 33 back to the Inn

              ??????

OK last recommendation, just under 200 miles

                Take 33 to Seneca Rocks
                Left on Rt 28
Go about 17 miles turn left on Jordan Run Rd (sign for Dolly Sods)
At the end turn left on Rt 42.
In Mt Storm "T" turn left on Rt 50

                33, 28, Jordan Run & 42 https://youtu.be/0FsRNmGmE54?si=kP15UolJQOtzWYn9

Rt 50 has many freshly paved twisty sections

Take Rt 50 about 50 miles to Thornton (or as far as you like)
You'll pass this place Cool Springs Park - VisitMountaineerCountry.com
Turn around & go 28 miles back to Aurora
Turn right on Stemple Ridge Rd

                Stemple Ridge https://youtu.be/IVT01Wnujec?si=qTcyY0ujinPM_JcN

At the T turn right then left on Rt 72
Follow 72 thru Parsons (food & fuel)
Left to stay on 72 then a right to stay on 72

                Rt 72 https://youtu.be/G3vxpJ9FPJI?si=xTgMj7hU4Ud63Nxl

At the end turn right on Rt 32
At the end of 32 turn right on 33 back to the Inn

and will be visiting through the Memorial Day Weekend.
So, weather permitting, I'll depart here on Tuesday AM
after taking her to the airport.
I should be in Elkin, WV Thursday evening.
Looking forward to riding a new area and seeing ya'll !
Google says it's an Eleven Hour/660 Mile trip. (Haha)
