Presta Valves: Towards a More Accurate Air Pressure
The trick is to only slightly open the valve stem core, just enough to allow some air to escape when the core is depressed. That way, when the pump nozzle is removed, less air escapes from the tire.
I had been loosening the core all the way and that allowed a fair amount of air to escape as the nozzle was pulled off.Last edited by wildbears; 01-28-2024, 05:55 PM.

When I was in Amsterdam, the number of cyclist was incredible. I didn't get a chance to ride, but was tempted to rent a bike. The bike lanes with dedicated traffic signals looked so inviting. Lots of attractive women riding to and from work made it even more inviting.
I have ridden in Switzerland. Their bike paths and trails are typially Swiss . . . well designed, well maintained, and understated. Very nice.
