Thick/soft saddle padding may require more forward saddle tilt even with a central channel. This is due to the sit bones sinking into the padding and relatively raising the saddle nose. OTOH, the thicker padding allows more forward tilt without the rider sliding forward.Last edited by wildbears; 04-03-2024, 07:02 PM.

105 R7000 Mechanical Front Derailleur Set Up: https://cycling-obsession.com/instal...nt-derailleur/
NOTE: On my 1983 Trek 970, steel bike, adjusting the cable tension with the builtin derailleur cable tension arm alone is not possible. With the adjustment screw all the way in, the lines are still far apart. You must first add some tension with the cable stop barrel adjuster. Use this to bring the two lines on the back of the derailleur body into close approximation. You can than use the cable tension arm adjustment screw to fine tune the tension and bring the lines into complete alignment.
The previous YouTube video seems to be misleading and difficult to follow if you are setting up a previously adjusted 105 R7000 FD. It may work if you have a new one just out of the box. However the Cycling Obsession guide is much easier to follow and more detailed.Last edited by wildbears; 04-24-2024, 01:42 PM.
