Had my 2nd Trump/Moderna vaccine yesterday morning. 36 hours later I'm still alive, no significant soreness AND, my willy hasn't fallen off.
Interesting fact(?) taken from my son, is that more people have died from the Covid vaccines in the last 5 months than from all other vaccines combined from 1990. (CDC numbers.)

Debbie got her 2nd Moderna vaccine on Wednesday. She only had arm pain with the 2nd shot.
She reacted more to the first shot and started to have neck pain 10 to 15 minutes after the shot.
One of the large pharmacies in Iowa now offers vaccines without a appointment.
When Debbie got her 2nd shot Wednesday they did not give her a set time, just said to show up any time between 12 and 5.Lee

Interesting that you should say that, Lee. The day after my first Moderna vaccine, I didn't feel at all well, just felt really bad. I had thought that it may have been a combination of breathing so much dust from our trip (there were alot of cold gusty days) and sinus issues. Now I wonder. Let's see what happens with the 2nd one on the 19th .
Tim, on the other hand, had zero reaction to both shots.

In Maryland I think we're over 40% now and they're saying just show up at any clinic and get the shot. All the mass sites are in and out in 10 minutes plus whatever they tell you to wait after. What I'm a little worried about is that the schools might try to make it mandatory for anyone 16 and older to have it to return to school in the fall. Right now we're not looking for our soon to be 16 year old to get it until there's a another couple of years of data available on what it does to young girls.

Who said anything about a hoax, Mike? Is that the only explanation? One example of a son of a friend dying is meaningless when discussing the overall pandemic. I am sorry for your friend's loss, nonetheless.Last edited by 955i; 05-04-2021, 09:18 PM.

Other options besides luck or a hoax?
1. Maybe masks work really well.
2. Maybe students and staff social distance without being told.
3. Maybe students actually are less likely to be carriers and to be infected by casual contact.
4. Maybe washing hands and cleaning the school was more effective than expected.
5. Maybe Oklahomans get outside during the winter months than do people in urban lockdown states.
I don't understand why if I have questions about something, I am accused of believing it is all a hoax. I made a factual statement about the school my wife works at and left it open to speculation as to why infections were low. That is all. It's what used to called the scientific method.

Sorry, my mistake. Just seems to be a popular opinion with many.....
Wish you had just written that instead of leaving it to the reader's
own interpretation.
Teachers here where insisting on getting vaccinated before the older
population, but our governor stood firm with the science and made
them wait until after the 60 y/o age group.
I see high school students walking downtown during school hours,
side-by-side, un-masked and sharing things. Yet there have not been
any outbreaks that I know of.
Having just typed that ^^ I just now heard on the local news that the
infections of people 39 and younger is up 23% in the state.
They may not get as sick as an older person, but there is still long term
effects they could have like loss of taste or smell. Weighing the side
effects of the vaccine or getting the virus, many feel they'd rather get
the virus. Except for loss of taste and smell they don't get very ill.

When I calculated the one third it did not include people under the age of 18.Originally posted by Lee View PostI just checked the Iowa COVID site and it looks like only a third of the Iowa population has received both shots or the Johnson & Johnson.
That low number makes me wonder if a lot of Iowans don't want to take the shot.
I would like to see what percentage of the Iowa population over 18 are fully vaccinated.Lee

Over crowding - high density populations.
Most of the walrus population could be easily wiped out by a highly fatal and highly contagious virus.
A high fatality rate will kill before is crosses an entire population when the population is dispersed.
But, severe population crowding allows it to rapidly spread before the the infected die.

Since I received the Moderna, my daily health has become more consistent. I would not have gotten the vaccine, but due to my working environment it allows me to remove the mask and travel out of the local area without somebodies bullshit permission... kind of like the pre-virus days when I was a free American! No issues without the mask to date.
I would like to have had a choice of vaccine, but took what was available. So far the past couple of months have been good. I heard a colonoscopy will kill anything so I'm gonna get one of those too!
Check out this aviation web site for an idea of the amount of aircraft flying in the world in present time. https://globe.adsbexchange.com. The skies are filling up!
If you select the U in the upper right hand corner it shows military aircraft only. We use it at work to see when a plane is getting close to home or just buzzing around the local test areas.
Stay healthy.

I think all the businesses around here have removed all the "Masks Required" signs.Originally posted by Capnrip View PostI'm noticing more signs on doors saying mask not required if vaccinated. I usually keep a gaiter around my neck when I'm out now in case i need it for something . May just be habit. Some stores still ask for masking up but hopefully we're coming out of this.
We stooped wearing our masks a couple weeks ago.
Both of us will bring one mask to BRPR because it sounds stricter back east.Lee
